I'm drowning in books over here--and I want to give some of them away! So, welcome to Holiday Heaven. For each weekday between now and Christmas Eve, I'll be pulling the name of a random commenter to win...well, you just have to check back and see. All will be paranormal--might be sci-fi, might be urban fantasy, might be fantasy, might be a YA paranormal. Some will be bestsellers, and some will be little-known favorites of mine. Oops, didn't get the first paragraph in: I don't have cats or dogs, but I feed the local wildlife, which includes the occasional feral cat. I've been adopted by the neighbor's black cat. I want to get a black or chocolate lab in the future.

ReplyDeleteWe have 2 cats Cinnamon and Thomas. Thomas doesn't know he is a cat, he thinks he is my puppy and follows me from room to room, lays at me feet and thinks at night he should make a "nest" in my hair to sleep.
I also have a little dog named Lollipup She is a rescue dog, we got her from a home where she was being abused by larger dogs. She was so tiny when we got her but with love and food she doubled in size.
If I do win any of the books during your contest, I just want you to know they will be going into Care Packages for the Military as I am a military mom and we like to spoil all our boys and girls deployed when we can
No kitties, as several family members are rather allergic to them. But, we do have an almost 1-year old goldendoodle named Domino.

Now that she is getting up there in age - she is 12, the cat will condescend enough on occasion to allow us to actually pet her, otherwise we are just her servants.

ReplyDeleteI have 5 cats at the moment, because two of my kitties had kittens. The two mommas are Veralidaine(Vear-aly-dane), we call her Daine for short, and Twilight whom is a gorgeous black cat. The kittens are Chibi, Daine's little one, and Yin and Yang, whom are Twilight's two. Yin is a white Siamese mix with blackish-gray paws and tail, while Yang is like Twilight and pure black.
I don't have any dogs, because we are currently taking care of my older brother's pit bull. She's a sweetie, but given the choice I'd go for a German Shepherd, Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix, a Welsh Corgie which I would name Ein (Cowboy Bebop reference XD), Basset Hound, or a Beagle.
I live with two wonderful kitties! Banshee is a torti, and lives up to her name! General Tso, or Sophie is a calico. They have serious character!

I have had many dogs and cats in my lifetime and loved them all. We have no pets at the moment, but plan on getting a dog soon, as my wife prefers dogs.

ReplyDeleteWe have five cats running around our house right now. Two of the cats are ours, three are foster kitties. I'll detail one of the fosters - a little kitten named Lewis. We've developed a game called "Will Lewis eat it?" We've offered him every safe edible thing we've cooked, and he eats it all....banana bread, plain rice, egg salad, cheese, bbq sauce...the list goes on and on.

ReplyDeleteWe spent twelve years raising and showing pedigreed cats, mostly Abyssinians. Right now we have only two "leftover" cat, Precious (who is beautiful, but not precious. Named Precious after her sister was named Vicious) and "The Ugly Kitten" (though she is no kitten now). Most of the rest had SF names, including Valentine Michael Smith, Valentina, Julian May, etc.

ReplyDeleteI live on a farm so we have six cats (Shadow, Ember, Cinder, Tiger, Patch and Bat), four horses (Maisy, Gypsy, Ranger and Brisa), and two dogs. One is a black Great Dane we bred and raised ourselves named Thunder. The other is a white German Shepherd puppy named Sadie Bug. :)

+1 When I was a kid we had 2 kittens, but after them I had a dog for more than 16 years. She passed away 2 years ago and I still miss her. She was a wonderful dog and friend, felt like my 3rd sister :-)

I have 2 inside cats, Fred and Midnight. Both are rescue animals. Take care of 5 semi-feral cats outside, working on getting them tamed. Have 2 dogs, Biscuit and Trixie. Thank you for giving the opportunity to pass on good reading, esp. for someone who doesn't live near any bookstores...lol
