I'm talking about writing synopses today over at the Castles and Guns Blog--click on the link, come on over, and share the misery!
Check back here tomorrow for the winner of the leather-bound copy of Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales, and a great new giveaway. (Hint: It's Marjorie M. Liu, and it's brand new!)

TRY MAKING THE SYNOPSIS AS SIMPLE AS ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE ON PAGE ONE AND FOLLOW WITH THE REAL VERSION. lABEL THEM. THE EDITOR WILL SEE AN UNUSUAL SUBMISSION. MIGHT NOT SELL YOUR BOOK BUT COULD ENTERTAIN THEM. JUST THINK HOW FUN IT WOULD BE FOR YOU TO SEND THIS IN. YOU'LL BE LAUGHING UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONSE. I'M LAUGHING NOW, THINKING ABOUT IT.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Pete. That is pretty funny. I think my opening page, in 24-point type, double-spaced, will read: Vampire fights brother, kidnaps girl, falls in love with girl, kills brother. That pretty well does it.
ReplyDeleteOh, the picture makes me laugh out loud. Hey...wait...that's me writing a synopsis! Waaaaaaa!
