Weigh-In Wednesday (& Win Meljean Brook's The Iron Duke!)

December was a great month for this blog, and I REALLY appreciate those of you who stop by on a regular basis (and for you occasional drop-ins, love you too but you should come by more often!).

As we head into a new year, though, I'd like to know what YOU  want to see on the blog. Oh yeah, I'll always have giveaways, never fear. But what would make you want to read more?

--Reviews?
--Author interviews?
--Free original fiction (by moi and/or others) that you could download or read online?
--Information about writing? Editing? Publishing?
--Interviews with agents and editors?
--Analysis of market trends in paranormal fiction?

This is me, asking YOU, what you want to see. I'd like to make this blog useful and fun, as well as full of free books :-)

So, weigh in. An incentive? I'll chose one commenter to win a copy of Meljean Brooks' awesome "steampunk romance" The Iron Duke, first in a new series she began late in 2010 with Berkley Sensation. Drawings are on Saturday.

As always, +1 for comment, +1 for blog followers, +1 for Twitter followers @Suzanne_Johnson, +1 for Tweet or Retweet.

Talk to me!

  1. Hi Suzanne :)
    You have an excellent site.
I make it a point to read & comment on author/agent/editor interviews & guest posts. And information about the writing profession is always interesting.
    All the best,

  4. Honestly, I would love to see all of it. I am an information junkie.

But I have The Iron Duke on my kindle, and I'm not a contest pig, so leave me out of it. Just forget you ever saw my face...er, my avatar.

  8. Suzanne, I've loved this blog since I stumbled upon it the day you interviewed Marissa Farrar. I follow and try to stop by everyday but ... life gets in the way, then I drop in and read about three days' worth of posts at once ;)!
What I like best about Preternatura is learning about authors I've never heard of. I'm bad about sticking with one or two authors-blinders thing- and your blog has introduced me to two in the last month: Marissa and now Marta.
I like all of the content but telling me about books and authors I've missed is tops in my book: keep up the great work!

  10. I would like to see more book reviews. That is one of the major reasons I trawl the blogosphere. And an analysis of the industry trends would be nice to read too!

  11. I've enjoyed your site. It's very easy to navigate through unlike some that are like mazes and take nearly forever to load. Yes you do have awesome author interviews and giveaway's. The only thing I could say would be keep up what your doing. You have an awesome blog and its always updated. Of course the free original fiction does sound good =)Us readers will always welcome good reads. Thanks.

  14. I read blogs mainly for reviews and to find new authors. I also like to enter giveaways as one can never have too many books !

Interviews are a mixed bag as sometimes it seems the same authors are interviewed on a whole lot of different blogs. That can get boring.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  15. I love to learn more about authors, editors (their likes and dislikes), and the writing process. Of course, I'm never opposed to free reads either.

    Thanks!

  17. Everything you listed. When I am considering a book by an author whose work I have not read, I like to read a review. So, reviews of books by new authors or a book that is in a new genre by that author would be welcome. I read author interviews with my favorite authors and, when I have time, interviews with other authors. Free fiction is always tempting. Information about writing, editing, and publishing; interviews with agents and editors; and market trends in speculative fiction would be useful because I have been encouraged to publish more of my fiction. I also like the giveaways and lists of upcoming releases.
