It's a big week for new releases, so I’m going to shorten the descriptions a bit this time around. Take a deep breath (a really, really big deep breath) and dig in! Here are the June 5-9 releases in spec fiction―science fiction, fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and YA paranormal. See what strikes your fancy…and win your choice of all the new releases. Details at the end. As always, open internationally!

Before long, the discomforted dad realizes that he himself is changing in most disturbing ways.
Possession, by Elana Johnson

Only Thistle Down, exiled from her tribe and trapped inside a mortal woman's body, can save her people.
Unnatural Issue, by Mercedes Lackey

Vampire in Atlantis, by Alyssa Day
The most unexpected of all allies to Poseidon's warriors has proven to be the fiercest: Daniel, a vampire and Night Guild mage. But even the strongest alliance can be destroyed when a vampire's oath crosses paths with a maiden's quest, and an 11,000-year-old desire is reborn. Seventh in the Warriors of Poseidon series.
See anything you want? I’m wanting Chicks Kick Butt enough to kick some butt! So…Reader’s choice―you tell me A) if you've read any of the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series and B) If so, are you still reading them? I am still buying them but have to admit I'm about three books behind now. As always, four entries possible and please include your e-mail: +1 for comment, +1 for blog follow, +1 for Twitter follow @Suzanne_Johnson, and +1 for a Tweet or RT about the contest. Now….go!

Wow, that's a lot of books this week! I'm wanting Possession and Robocalypse....I'm not sure which one looks better. I have read Blood Red Road and would recommend it; great adventure story. But I've never read the Anita Blake series.

Gah! So many good books!
ReplyDeleteI still read Anita, not behind on any books, and hopelessly wait for her to return to the good old trigger happy gal she was.
And of course I want Hit List because considering how unsatisfying
her books are now I refuse to pay that riduculously huge price they are requesting for the paperback. I'd rather wait until it's in the library...

I read roughly the first dozen Anita Blake novels but quit around then. Also read the first two Meredith Gentry books. It just seemed, then, that the books became more about the sex and didn't much care for the plot. In my mind that's when they slipped from Urban Fantasy to Paranormal Romance. (I'm male, and that's where I make the distinction.)
ReplyDeleteAnd as much as I'd like to read Robopocalypse, should I win I'll choose Hit List because I have a dear fan that loves the Anita Blake novels and I'd give it to her. Heck, maybe I'd read it myself, too.

So many great books this week, makes me wish I had an actual book store instead of relying on Walmart. GRRR I really want Nightfall, Hereafter and Possession, but If I win, my gut is saying Nightfall. Thanks for the chance

I think Anita Black was the 1st urban fantasy series I read. I do keep reading it, but it's no longer one of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win Blood Red Road.
