Cover Debut! Royal Street Cover Reveal & Contest

Yep, that nebulous book I've been teasing at for a long time is a big step closer to reality. Royal Street has a cover!

The artist for the cover is Cliff Nielsen, and I couldn't be more thrilled. He has done some great covers recently, including the Cassandra Clare Mortal Instruments series, the latest Chronicles of Narnia editions, and titles for authors such as Lisa DesRochers, Sara Beth Durst, and Devon Monk.

So...what do you think? Leave a comment, and you'll be entered for a drawing of a signed ARC cover flat. These are seriously limited--I only have two (the rest went on the ARCs, which haven't been sent out yet) and I'm keeping one for myself :-). The ARC cover may also differ slightly from the final in what author blurbs they choose to use, and in this version my character DJ has brown eyes--they're blue on the final cover. So, as my merman Rene Delachaise would say: "Limited edition, babe!"

    Congratulations!! It looks fabulous. As soon as you said cover artist was Cliff Nielsen, I thought "Aha". His covers are always fantastic. I'm sure Royal Street will be a huge success!

  23. It is very nice =) It does have that same look as Cassandra Claire's and I love them. Cliff does an awesome job. Is Rene in this book or is he only in your free short story. I really enjoyed it by the way. Thanks for the chance to win.

    Rene is not in Royal Street but he and his twin brother Robert are VERY MUCH in the second book, River Road. It comes out in October 2012.

  30. I love the cover! She has such an intense glare, it's pulling me in. =D I would definitely pick up this book if I saw it in a store to check it out (even if I hadn't heard anything about it). And I can see the similarities between your cover, Cassandra Clare's covers and Devon Monk's covers.
