If you’re a fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood (true?), you’ll want to check out this first about a quartet of half-demon brothers trying to protect the human realm from their own kind. It’s got a softer tone than the BDB, the brothers not quite as edgy and out there, but it’s still a hot paranormal romance for a hot summer month.
MY THOUGHTS: You hear me, true? I’m a sucker for a bunch of snarky alpha-male brothers, and these guys are both hot and hilarious. Each of the guys shares a demon father but have different species of mother—surprise!—so each has his own set of unique skills to join with his red-eyed demon hotness. Of course, not all demons are so pretty, as we quickly learn when Keegan leads the charge to prevent their evil demon dad from setting off a plan for universal domination, starting with Earth.
Lario has done a great job of world-building here, so it’s not just a hot paranormal romance but an interesting new multi-verse and a different take on the demon races. You think you know what angels and demons are, but you don’t. Brynn has her own unusual set of skills—she can envision the history of any object she touches, for example, and can drain the energy from a person with her touch. Note I say person, not demon. Uh-oh.
This is one of my favorite paranormal romance reads lately, and definitely worth checking out. It’s the first of a series, with the next three scheduled for release in the coming few months.
Want to win a copy of Blood of the Demon? What is your favorite demon character? I know he isn’t romance material, but for my money you can’t beat Algaliarept from the Kim Harrison Hollows series. You know the drill: +1 for comment, +1 for blog follow, +1 for Twitter follow @Suzanne_Johnson, and +1 for Tweet or Retweet.

Ha! Nobody can beat Al, I totally agree. He's got the snark and the style.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to add this book to my TBR then.

This sounds like a fun, sexy, edge-of-your-seat story--my favorite kind of book. Can't wait to read it. Congrats, Rosalie, on this new release!

I don't really have a favorite demon. I love the demons in Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalkers series. I also like Jim from Katie MacAlister's Aisling Grey: Guardian series. It cracks me up sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! (I love these giveaways. Cuz even if I don't win, half the time I'm adding a new book to my already massive TBR. So, I always get something out of it.)

Oh, this book sounds exciting! I would love to win it :D Thank you for the chance. <3 Hmm, I don't think I have read a book with a demon :o Except for The Mortal Instruments, but not sure if those counts? But then again, Sebastian is a demon :) And he is kind of awesome. Maybe. Almost. Hih :D

I love so many demons...sounds so morbid but I do. I just recently read In the Neon by Danielle D. Smith and loved Faust. I also love all the Lords of the Underworld with their demons...if that counts. I'd love to win this. It's definitely my type of read. Please count me in, thanks.

I honestly have to say that I have read so many books that have demons in them, that I truly can't name just one. I will though name the demon in the book, that I am currently reading. His name is Declan in Demons are a Girl's Best Friend. I am loving him right now! I would love to win this book! Thanks for the contest. bpatrick64113@sbcglobal.net +1 Comment, +1 Follower
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the BDB series so I am anticipating this book a lot. I can't say I have a favourite demon character because I haven't met any...I think?

fav demon character? Hmm... well, I'm partial to Jeremy from the Soul Catcher series (gee, I wonder why) and the demons in Jenna Black's series.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to getting my hands on a copy of this book!
Congratulations on your release, Rosalie! I wish you much success!!

I don't have a favorite because I really can't recall a single demon, other than general demons, at all! I really want to read this book now so I can put an end to my ignorance :)
