Had a great time in New Orleans, and thanks to the folks at Tor Books and Garden District Book Shop in NOLA for the launch event. It was great to see some old friends and make some new ones. Here are a few shots from the launch. I'll put more up on Facebook when I get home.
In the meantime, I'm in Houston! I'll be at Katy Budget Books on Fry Road off the Katy Fwy tonight at 6 p.m., and tomorrow night I'll be at Murder by the Book on Bissonnet at 6:30 p.m. If you're in the Houston area, hope you'll stop by! I have goodies (yes, a bribe).

Did your fans at the signing have good questions about Royal Street? Any you can share, without spoilers.
ReplyDeleteThere were some interesting questions. A few...
ReplyDeleteDid the editors try to change any of the way you treated Hurricane Katrina? (No. Their views had been shaped by media coverage, which wasn't always accurate, but they absolutely respected the way I chose to portray it.)
Who was the most fun character to write? (Hands down, Jean Lafitte, although I enjoyed the scenes where DJ and her partner Alex get to tangle.)
How second book differs...(It moves the timeline to three years past Katrina, so it has a lighter feel to it, a heavier dose of paranormal and less physical description tied to the hurricane, and it takes place partly in Plaquemines Parish, in the wetlands.)
I'll share more of these as I go along!
i would have loved to be there and not only for the goodies^^;;
ReplyDeleteat least we get some pictures and q&a that's help so thanks you
all the best
congrats, Suzanne! So good to see your book out in the world, after all this time :)
ReplyDeleteGlad that you are having fun, and I sure wish I could come and visit.
