First off, I'm giving away goodies over at Were Vamps Romance today--as well as a copy of Royal Street. And the pirate Jean Lafitte is blogging, which is always an adventure. Check it out HERE.
Wow, it's almost release day! I leave early tomorrow, heading for New Orleans for the book launch, laden with posters and swaggy stuff and pens and my computer and my Kindle and my iPhone and my GPS and...sheesh, I hope I have room for my clothes!
But never fear, the blog shall continue apace, with giveaways from my travels. So who knows what that will be...you'll just have to check and find out!
Here's the tour schedule. If you're in or around one of these cities, I hope you'll stop by with questions in tow!
Tuesday 4/10...LAUNCH DAY! I will be in NEW ORLEANS at faboo Garden District Book Shop, located in the Rink, at the corner of Washington and Prytania, about six blocks from where I used to live. The event starts at 5:30 and I hope to see a lot of familiar faces there!
Thursday, 4/12...I'll be in HOUSTON for two events. First up: Katy Budget Books, which is located at 2450 Fry Road, off the Katy Freeway in far west Houston. The even begins at 6 p.m.
Friday, 4/13...Still in HOUSTON. Tonight, I'll be at Murder by the Book, which is at 2342 Bissonnet, near my old Rice University stomping grounds. 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, 4/15...Off to DALLAS, or, technically, Fairview, where I'll be at A Real Bookstore at 2 p.m.
Then I have to actually show up at my day job and work until
Friday, 4/20....Up U.S. Highway 280 to BIRMINGHAM, where I'll be at the Barnes & Noble located at the Summit, at 7 p.m., then I'm zipping down I-65 in time for
Saturday 4/21...MONTGOMERY, where I'll be at the Alabama Book Festival in Old Town. I don't know my speaking time yet. The festival runs from 9-4, so I'll update the time when I find out.
Then I have to go back and work some more at the day job until
Saturday, 4/28....ATLANTA, or actually Decatur, Ga., where I'll be at Eagle Eye Book Shop at 2 p.m., and you can catch a glimpse of some family members, maybe even my cutie-pie great nephews.
Then I'm making appearances at the day job again until
Thursday, May 3...PORTLAND, at Powell's in Beaverton, at 7 p.m. I've heard about Powell's for years and can't wait to see it! And Portland--a new place for me! Then it's down the west coast for
Saturday, May 5....SAN DIEGO, where I'll be at Mysterious Galaxy Books on Clairemont Mesa Blvd, as part of the store's birthday bash--festivities start at 10 a.m. I lived in San Diego for a few years in the early '90s, so I'm looking forward to seeing my old Ocean Beach neighborhood!
Whew! Stay tuned. Blogging from the road could involve video...audio...photos...book giveaways...you never know.
