5 Sexy Things About the Olympians by Sasha Summers
I love Greek Mythology – everything about it. The myths are overflowing with romance, tragedy, drama, and smokin’ hot sexiness. What more could a romance author need for inspiration? Not much, let me tell you. ;)
But you’ve asked for a top 5 list… Which is kind of hard. Sooo, I’ll answer – but I’ll answer using my new release, For the Love of Hades. Is it shameless book promotion? Yes, but I’d never be able to come up with ONLY 5 things. No way.
1. Hades. I’m not sure how to explain how much I love this hero. He is the epitome of sexy – for me anyway. Gorgeous, thoughtful, hot, loyal, ethical, sexy, and surprisingly kind – Hades is the man.
2. Persephone. Innocence plus single-minded determination. Her greatest flaw is her willingness to trust. But it is her flaw that enables her to see Hades for who he really is.
3. Demeter. She’s the Goddess of Fertility after all. Yes, she is Persephone’s mother – but she’s still got it going on in the animal magnetism department. She is who she is and she makes no apologies for it – a trait her daughter shares.
4. Poseidon. A villain you love to hate. If he wasn’t so hot you might love to hate him a little less, but he is. He’s the catalyst for most of Hades and Persephone’s trials even if he’s not the actual villain this time around.
5. Apollo, Ares, Hermes, and Zeus… When they rally together at the end of the book there’s an undeniable wave of testosterone that can’t help but impress. The Olympians don’t always see eye-to-eye, but when they come together – yummy!
Honestly, each God and Goddess has some primal element that embodies sensuality. I think that’s why I’m so drawn to creating tales for each and every one of them.
Hades and Persephone's tale really ratchets up the steam factor, in a very good way. I hope readers will fall in love with their love story, even if they have to turn on the fan while they’re reading it!

I have always loved those Gods and Goddesses, and I go back to my college Mythology books for inspiration all the time. Having Hades as a romance hero...Brilliant!

i've read story with goods in my latin course but that don't qualify^^ as books i can only think about the percy jackson series by rick riordan ( oh there is the interrupted goddess series too but i haven't read it, i just know it exist so far)
I love mythology based books :D I've read books featuring mythology by P.C. Cast, Jenna Black, Jennifer Estep (her Mythos Academy series).. I can't wait to check out For the Love of Hades!:)

ReplyDeleteYes I have read several series that have to do with the Gods and Goddess and very much enjoyed them. I love it when they mix Mythology with Paranormal :) One that I really enjoyed was Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld. Great series!

I started reading Greek Myths with my son at the age of five . He used to recreate Mt. Olympus and the Greek Gods with his Beanie Babies. I enjoy a good story using the gods and goddesses. Your series looks very interesting. I will have to check it out. Thanks for the contest.

ReplyDeleteI love books based on mythology too as they have a way of grabbing my interest. I've read Abandon by Meg Cabot which is based on the Persephone myth and also Everneath by Brodi Ashton. I also absolutely love Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of recent YA focused on Greek gods (Goddess Test series, for one example). And I have a soft spot in my heart for the Percy Jackson series from when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteI love Greek myth. Hades is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed a short story by Gena Showalter called Darkest Prison. It had Atlas :) I like him too. I've also read the YA Percy Jackson series. I can't wait until my son is old enough for that one. Thanks for sharing a cool new read. Please count me in for the contest.

ReplyDeleteI love mythology. When I was growing up, I had my own copy of Bullfinch's mythology and used to read it for fun. These days, I'm enjoying Jenna Black's Nikki Glass series and Jennifer Estep's Mythos Academy series, both of which are based on mythology. Hades and Persephone are one of my favorite couples.
